  When is the best time of year to apply block paving sealer to a driveway?
Dry weather is essential for the application of block paving sealer with a temperature range of 7 & 23 degrees centigrade recommended. In view of this we would ideally suggest  applying the block paving sealer in good weather between April & October.

  By applying block paving sealer will it restrict the growth of weeds, moss and algae?
Yes, properly sealed the jointing sand will be set solid, making it far harder for growth in the joints to occur. With block paving weed growth occurs from surface seeding, on-going this can be minimized by spraying with a weed killer twice a year and keeping the joints clear of debris.

  Is it ok to apply block paving sealer to paving that has been laid a number of years ago?
Yes, however the paving will need to be more thoroughly cleaned first. Once paving sealer has been applied after the paving cleaning process, the paving should be transformed. It will then be protected and looking just as good as far more recent installations.

  After my driveway has been cleaned, how long before I can apply the paving sealer?
We would recommend on average 3 dry days between cleaning and sealing. It is advised not to apply sand to the paving joints until day of sealing.

  How many coats of block paving sealer should I apply to a driveway?
Our block paving sealer and pattern imprinted concrete sealer have been developed so that two coats will offer maximum protection. You can apply just one coat of the sealer, but generally this will lead to a disappointed customer who will not recommend you to others. 

  How much should I charge for applying block paving sealer?

  How much should I charge for cleaning a patio?
If the patio is block paving allow approx £3 per metre for cleaning and re-sanding. For patios with paving slabs £2 per metre is a good figure to base your quotes on ( see driveway cleaning question for other factors).

  What coverage should I expect from 25 litres of block paving sealer?
You a achieve maximum protection it is recommended to apply the block paving sealer at a ratio of 2sq. metres per litre 1st coat and 3-4sq. metres per litre on the second coat.

  Will application of sealer to paving minimise maintenance?
Application of paving sealer* will greatly reduce the porous nature of the surface, naturally helping it to stay clean and restrict the growth of weeds moss and algae. It also protects block paving from losing colour due to ultra violet light. With a minimal amount of 'upkeep' the look of the paving never needs to deteriorate.

  Are the paving sealers harmful to pets or plants?
When sprayed near garden areas we suggest using a protection board to prevent the paving sealer from overspraying which can cause damage to plants and garden areas. Please take extra precautions around fish ponds and water areas during the initial drying period (approx. 2- 4 hours). It is recommended to keep pets away from areas where paving sealer has recently been applied.

  Is there an anti-slip product available for pattern Imprinted concrete driveways & patios?
Yes, we have anti slip products available which are mixed in with the pattern imprinted concrete paving sealer before application.

  I have never used block paving sealer within my business before, why should I start now?
