MISCELLANEOUS TYPES FOR DIFFERENT USES
You can make your own lawn with various types of grass:
- Ornamental lawn for the garden
- Sport lawn
- Lawn for forage production
Usually the lawn production involves the presence of weeds, which clearly makes the meadow unusual to see.
Some varieties of meadows, such as the sports field (golf courses or soccer fields), need maintenance including watering and tossing.
Finally there are ornamental lawns that unlike other meadows.
They are made of particularly valuable and aesthetically beautiful herbs to look at!
WHAT KIND OF SEEDS TO USE FOR YOUR LAWN?
The most chosen and recommended meadow seeds are: poa, festuca, agrostis, graminacee.
The right choice of lawn`s type should be done by evaluating the type of soil you have, the climate and the exposure.
Meanwhile, you need to understand whether to opt for a decorative meadow or rustic meadow, resistant to being trampled on.
The Festuca, for example, is a category of lawn seed that suits well to dry soils.
One of these is the sheep's festuca and the festuca rubra.
They have slow and long-lasting growth and they are therefore most used for those who do not have time to dedicate to the conservation of the grass.
Agrostis is famous because it does not need frequent cuts.
The lawn is very dense and this makes it resistant to tread.
The type of seed most purchased online is stoloniferous agrostis.
The Loietto seed is surely the most popular seedling for lawns.
It is resistant to tread and adapt to many types of soil.
The only problem is that it covers other herbs, so it is best to use it together with a mixture of meadow seeds.
GARDEN APPLIED: TYPES
There are several types of lawn and some require more care of others.
There are lawns that do not need to be cut frequently.
For other types, you should provide a cut even one or two times a week.
An example are lawns created using the "dichondrea repens" seeds.
Obviously, it would be better to know the type of soil that is available before making the lawn right away.
This operation is feasible by doing a simple chemical analysis of the soil.
It's common practice to buy mixed seeds.
One of the characteristics that the soil has is the permeability of water, so you can get a good trailing meadow!
In case of lack of these elements, you can still make the walkable meadow provided you add specific organic matter to the soil: potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus.
There are also soils that have large amounts of clay that does not favor the roots of seed.
So it is preferable to add manure to the soil or alternatively humus.
Anyway a good soil should be mostly composed of soil and a small part of sand.
If you want to buy a ready meadow, you can choose!
The cost of the ready meadow is higher but it has a number of undeniable advantages, for example the speed with which you can make it (about 24 hours), the lack of weeds, no need of watering.
Plates measure about 100 × 50 cm. And it comes from a variety of seeds selected and certified.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF THE LAWN
Particular attention is paid to the irrigation during the hot periods in order to avoid damages to the grass.
It is also advisable to do an accurate lawn mowing with a metal broom to avoid foreign bodies in the lawn.
ADVICE FOR THE CONCLUSION!
During the month of April, it will be possible to fertilize the lawn, taking care to eliminate even weeds.
There are, however, commercially great herbicides such as Ustinex or Rasical, which are mainly used in spring from April to June.
It is also good practice to offset the effect of the herbicide by the spreading of a fertilized plant.
The beauty of a lawn is not based solely on the cleaning of weeds, but by the lawnmower.
With the barking you guarantee the lawn a live colUor and will be very enjoyable to see!
